Blessed Unrest

Based in Abbeymount Print Studio, Blessed Unrest is a contemporary print design studio run by Lorna Brown. Lorna designs and hand screen prints her own fabric collections as well as running a program of community screen printing workshops.

The fabrics that Lorna prints are sold by the metre or made into a range of home products and accessories like cushions, light shades, scarves, bags and notebooks. She exhibits at trade and design fairs, galleries and independent gift shops and has her own online store as well as working to commission.

The Blessed Unrest screen print workshops vary from intensive day classes and weekend workshops to a 6-week program of evening classes. At the print studio, Lorna offers a rolling program of classes from beginners right through to more advanced level. Classes can be a ‘one off’ learning experience or a progression route to more advanced skills and creative practice.

The classes are skills based, product based or a combination of both depending on their length. You’ll learn about materials, use of tools, techniques and be introduced to related artists and designers. Lorna teaches through demonstration, discussion and hands on experience, supported by clear instruction and one to one support throughout. She also works with individuals and groups to achieve more specific screen print goals by organizing 1 to 1 tutorials, inductions to the print studio and demonstrations.
