Design Excellence, Artistic Collaboration and Creative Potential, are our core values. At SilverHub our role is to support you to grow creatively, encourage your artistic potential and enable you to successfully become part of the community of jewellery designers.
Founded by Jewellery Designer and Artist Lisa Arnott in 2008, SilverHub provides education and training in contemporary jewellery design which enables and empower students, to develop their artistic capacity within the field of contemporary jewellery design.
Our empowering, holistic, and supportive approach to teaching design not only enables students to discover their creativity, it also empowers them excel artistically and unique jewellery designs.
Our courses are taught by Lisa Arnott and Jessica Howarth. Both are successful jewellery designers who have exhibited locally and internationally. Lisa is a graduate from Edinburgh College of Art with honours, a Master of Fine Arts (with distinction) from Sheffield Hallam University in Metalwork and Jewellery and has a PGCE from Herriot Watt University in Adult and Community Education. Jessica has a first class honours in Jewellery Design from Dundee College of Art and a Master’s in Education (with distinction) from Glasgow University.
A quality design education experience and teaching are important. Small classes enable students to learn traditional skills whilst developing their artistic and creative abilities. The day and evening classes allow students to grow confidently, in a range of technical and traditional skills.
Our one-year foundation course enables students to expand on those skills, develop their visual language, artistic voice, and technical range. Students develop a portfolio of work which they can use for entry to a university level course or act as the catalyst to set up their own independent jewellery business. Graduates from the SilverHub one-year course have successfully gained places at Degree and Masters level at leading Universities throughout the UK, including Glasgow School of Art, Dundee College of Art, Sheffield Hallam University Institute of Art and Design and the prestige School of Jewellery at Birmingham City University.
