This course is run by Lisa Arnott BA Hons, PGC, MFA Metalwork and Jewellery and is aimed at the beginner.
We will encourage you to design and make jewellery in silver using traditional techniques. It will be a practical based course with demonstrations on a variety of skills and techniques. You will work on your own designs and at a pace appropriate to your skill level and experience. Within this course you will learn how to: - Develop your own style as a jeweller.
- Soldering, using a saw, piercing metal and annealing
- Creating a unique surface through texturing and hammering
- Using a roll mill - Simple chain making
- Doming and Piercing
- Polishing and finishing
- Making jump rings
- Creating earrings hooks
- Colouring metal through patination
