This courses is run by Edinburgh Design School and enables students to practice and refine the teaching learned on their Pottery Foundation: Level 1 course.
Pottery is a craft discipline and demands lots of practice. The course allows the time to make that happen. Students at this stage can concentrate on hand building, wheel throwing or both.
You will work with tutorial support to develop and refine your pottery skills. You will lean new techniques and creative approaches and you will and learn to use the studio equipment necessary to prepare and recycle your own clay.
Once you have completed this course you can seek studio membership at Edinburgh Ceramic Workshop or drop in for day or weekend independent practice sessions in the pottery.
You can also progress on to Intermediate or SQA certificated pottery courses at Edinburgh Design School.
Foundation Level 2 classes run on Mondays and Thursdays and are in eight-week blocks. They cost £260 per person with materials and firing costs included.
