Introduction to Enamelling - Two Day Workshop

Led by British Enamelling Guild award winning jeweller Jessica Howarth (BA Hons Jewellery Design, Masters of Education) who will guide you on how to use vitreous enamel to create beautiful and colourful pieces of jewellery. You will have the chance to experiment with enamelling techniques including basse-taille, scraffito, sugar coat enamel, using stamps and stencils.

At the end of the weekend, you will have covered a variety of skills and techniques which will enable you to develop a variety of samples which may inform your future jewellery designs.

If you have attended the etching or fly press workshops, then bring your etched surfaces or your fly pressed objects samples and learn how to use enamel with them to develop your jewellery design further.

Lunch

Lunch is not included. Why not try one of the many cafes in Leith who provide a great lunch. On Sunday it is advisable to bring lunch with you

Materials

All tools, equipment and copper metal are provided in the fee and are part of the course. A small amount of silver is provided and enamel

Knowledge Base

This course is for those students who wish to explore techniques beyond beginners. You should have some experience in jewellery design. If in doubt, please give us a call before you make a booking.
