PAPER PRINTING: A productive weekend in the workshop learning to prepare artwork for and exposing artwork onto screens, become more familiar with this technical aspect of the process to develop more personal artworks. This course is aimed at those with a prior understanding of screen print techniques or a progression route for returning students who may use the course to develop their skills further, and gain tutor advice and guidance in a friendly, relaxed studio environment.
The course covers:
1-1 planning your projects & expectations.
Developing your imagery, motifs and patterns on film and transparency.
Coating & exposing your own imagery onto screens using photo sensitive emulsion
Screen printing onto fine art quality paper using your designs, blank screens, paper stencils and pre exposed screens with pattens/textures/photographic images.
Colour mixing and screen printing using pigment inks.
Learning about transparency/opacity of inks.
Creating colour blends & painterly textures.
You’ll be encouraged to develop a range of prints exploring your style and vision. The aim is to learn the technical aspects of the processes which you can then use to develop further ideas independently throughout the day.
