Learn and explore a range of textile printing methods on this intermediate weekend course. This is aimed at those with a prior understanding of screen print techniques or a progression route for returning students who may use the course to develop their skills, create personalised prints and gain tutor advice and guidance in a friendly, relaxed studio environment.
The course covers:
1-1 planning your projects & expectations.
Developing your imagery, motifs and patterns on film and transparency.
Coating & exposing your own imagery onto screens using photo sensitive emulsion
Screen printing onto textiles using blank screens & paper stencils
Screen printing onto cloth using pre exposed screens with pattens/textures
Colour mixing and screen printing using textile binder & pigment inks.
You’ll be encouraged to develop a range of experimental imagery and build up pattern, shape & colour in layers. The aim is to learn the technical aspects of the processes which you can then use to develop further ideas independently over the course.
