INTRODUCTION TO TEXTILE SCREEN PRINTING: A productive introductory day in the workshop learning to screen print and become more familiar with the equipment and techniques to develop prints on fabric. By exploring layered and experimental print techniques you'll produce your very own textile samples. Aimed at complete beginners or those looking to refresh their textile print skills, create personalized prints and gain tutor advice and guidance in a friendly, relaxed studio environment.

The course covers:

Screen printing onto pale cotton/calico using blank screens, paper stencils and pre exposed screens with pattens/textures/photographic images.

Colour mixing and screen printing using pigment inks.

Learning about transparency/opacity of inks.

Creating colour blends & painterly textures.

You’ll be encouraged to develop a range of experimental skills and build up pattern, shape & colour in layers. The aim is to learn the technical aspects of the processes which you can then use to develop further ideas independently throughout the day.
